Procurement policy note PPN
[edit] Introduction
A procurement policy note (PPN) provides supporting information about public procurement.
PPNs were originally issued by the Procurement Policy Division of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC). The OCG was first established as an office of HM Treasury in 2000. As part of its best practice in procurement and project management guidance, the OGC issued PPNs from 2006 until 2011.This included information notes, action notes and quarterly updates. However, the OGC was absorbed into the Efficiency and Reform Group (ERG) within the Cabinet Office in May 2010. The OGC closed in 2011, but some archived OGC guidance was cited in the Government Construction Strategy, first published in 2011.
PPNs continue to be issued by the Cabinet Office Efficiency and Reform Group and Crown Commercial Service.
